The story of DNF Duel is set in Plane: The Gate, one of many Alternate Universes created in the aftermath of the destructive event known as the Great Metastasis. A Nintendo Switch port was released on April 20th, 2023. Open beta tests on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 were held from December 17th, 2021 through December 20th, as well as from April 1st, 2022 through April 4th. The game was originally revealed at Nexon's annual Dungeon & Fighter fan festival, "Dungeon & Fighter Winter Festival 2020", and released on June 28th, 2022.
